Vista House Roadway Stabilization Oregon and Washington border
Rick Thrall of Geoservices NW served as the construction geotechnical engineer for the micropile and soil nail installation and verification at the Vista House in the Columbia River Gorge (see home page photo). Micropiles were placed supporting the Historic Columbia River Highway surrounding the Vista House. Load verification testing was carried out on selected piles. A series of soil nails were installed and verified below the road to support the slope. 6/6/16
